<description>Kevin, I was interested in your blogs on boilerjuice.com as I too have been monitoring them. As a former senior manager in various UK oil companies and 10 years in the US I have some serious concerns about DCC&#039;s real intentions, price fixing comes to mind, restricting customers choice under veiled pretexts of being someone else. Squeezing independent family companies into selling their businesses after generations have spent time in building the business up is not my idea of fun and the Monopolies commission just look the other way.

So, I have recently acquired boilerjuice.co, much to the annoyance of boilerjuice.com and have also acquired directoil.co, fueloildirect.co,heatingoils.co, heating-oils.co.uk, oilsupplier.co, totaloils.co, furnacejuice.co, furnacejuice.co.uk and furnancejuice.com to compete on a more level playing field.
It beats me why any distributor would want to give away margin to the likes of boilerjuice and then not get its money until later in the month.

The sites all re-direct back to goffpetroleum.co.uk at present as they are one of my old customers and I have been doing their website for the last 12 years.

I can be contacted at this email address and I live in Surrey, UK

Keep on bashing boilerjuice.com

		<description>Hi Michael

Thanks for taking the trouble to comment, however I feel you have missed the point I was trying to make insofar that the cheapest route must invariably lead to second rate service in the long term as was so vividly illustrated during the recent cold spell.

The majority of firms that chose the cheapest route to market are predictably no longer with us having generally fallen into the maw of agressive growth driven nationwide outfits that then displayed their true colours last winter. They were generally under resourced when the pressure came on the wheels fell off, where they were delivering they were often 10ppl over the odds when in other circumstances they sell virtually at cost to keep trucks moving.

We were pressurised but managebly so we kept our margins the same and turned away non regular customers so that we did not let down our regulars who are our number one priority, one disgruntled shopper threatened to take us to the OFT because we declined to supply him after he admitted he would only ever use us if we were the absolute cheapest, that is the sort of customer I do not want but which are unfortunately given succour by operations like yours.

We recently purchased 4 new tankers and a new IT system for in excess of 500k, for a small family firm this is massive investment in customer service for which we, I feel, are entitled to expect a fair return, the cost of doing our work is increasing exponentially year on year and regulation stifles us yet our industry is being seduced into working for nothing to maintain market share. We are a very local outfit with the sea on three sides we have a rock solid customer base which grows by recommendation, we have our own website which works very well for us but above all we deliver when the going gets tough, we are not the cheapest we are quite simply the best, this is what our customers tell us.

Thanks but no thanks to your kind offer of a listing it will work elsewhere without doubt but given our unique location it is not for us.

Best regards

		<description>Hi,
I like to think my company is responsible for &#039;cheapest&#039; now being one of the most commonly used words in online oil distributor websites. You see now when you do a search in google for Cheapest Oil, Boilerjuice are second on the list!

It would be great to get Consols Oils on the site (always completely free and we refer people directly on). If you would like to know more, please get in touch.

Thanks
Michael

		<description>Hi Kevin,
Just read your blog about your new business venture. Just like to wish you every success and it sounds like you will be enjoying yourself as well.
Very interesting reading about the opportunites and the Spannish model compared to the British way of fishing Tuna.
Going back to sea as well! - they always say once a fisherman always a fisherman, sea is in your blood.
Best wishes and good luck from both Jayne and myself.

<description>Anyone wanting to show support for the Option A harbour development can now do so at
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/pzharbour/
It is very important to spread the word get your friends , family and contacts to put commonsense before an irrelevant slither of foreshaw and an unfit for purpose sea wall. Please show support and don&#039;t let apathy rule Penzance and our valuable maritime asset.
With our MP trying to placate both sides of the argument you need to know that if this is not resolved soon the funding will be left in the hands of who ever wins the election and there is NO garuntee anything will be done.
In the event of this stalemate continuing I would not blame Isles of Scilly looking at alternatives to Penzance especially for thier frieght handling</description>

		<description>Dear Kevin,

It is kind of you to write at such length. I always welcome honest debate - no matter how robust - providing that it is based on fact.

The Helford Jetty issue (on which I expect we agree and in which I certainly was and am still involved) is not comparable with Pz Harbour. The planning committee approved Helford but rejected Pz.

It should not be the job of a MP to micromanage projects which are the responsibility of another tier of Govt. to deliver. I&#039;m more involved in Newlyn than you appear to be aware of. No criticism of you for that. I&#039;d be happy to supply some facts before you ventilate.

Some of the information you may seek, or at least check, before pronouncements can be found on my website.

I cannot insist that the media report what I do. When they do they often embellish or twist. Anyone can ask me or my office at any time.

You will see that I was involved in helping to set this project up at it&#039;s inception. I warned that the Pz Harbour plans may not be &#039;politically deliverable&#039; back in August. The response was an astonishing mix of tantrums and name calling. It gives me no satisfaction to point out that my warnings were proven accurate. If the Councils had spent time dealing with the substance of my concerns rather than on hystrionics we&#039;d be moving to the construction phase around now. These were not decisions for Parliament.

I note you still wish to make comments about others. My advice is to avoid the froth. Check facts. And avoid saying anything for effect in public about anyone which you would not be prepared to say privately to them. Most folk find that unpleasant comments of a personal nature reflects more on the person making them than on those they are aimed at.

I&#039;d be pleased to meet. Please contact my office.

<description>Many thanks for your most welcome input David it is good to see the business community finally stirring and getting into its stride.I am sick and weary of having biased partially innaccurate propaganda promulgated largely by a collection of pseudo intellectual single issue blow- ins dictating the agenda by shouting down common sense at every turn. Whether Andrew George likes it or not this convoluted wasteful saga has chilling paralells with the Helford Jetty fiasco where another bunch of selfish introspective blow-ins wrecked a much needed long awaited project simply because of their very deep pockets. It is high time that productive Cornish people siezed the initiative for once by taking control of our own destiny to accomplish what is so obviously necessary.

The &quot;Fiends&quot; have had it their own way for long enough lets take the battle to them by exposing their fault lines and the half truths they have peddled to so many decent concerned Penzance inhabitants when in truth they are ruthlessly pursuing a well funded hidden agenda that will, in the long term, do nothing but harm to those they claim to represent.
